Fabuwood is a stock, import brand. Meaning, the cabinets are globally sourced and are brought into their headquarters in Newark, NJ. From there they can be shipped out as flat packed aka RTA or assembled and then shipped to their destinations.

Design Features - Now, we have already spoken about Fabuwood's door and color designs being on par for today's kitchen trends. In fact, today's most popular trend (especially here on Long Island) is white shaker cabinets. So, there is no surprise that 95% of our Fabuwood sales is the Allure Galaxy door in the Frost white painted finish. Fabuwood also has a pretty good selection of cabinet luxuries we expect in today's kitchen- like microwave base cabinets, trash cabinets, tilt out trays, pantries, pull out spice racks, wood hoods, country sink base cabinets for apron front sinks, ability to do select appliance panels, floating shelves and more. Quality Performance - Fabuwood is an all plywood cabinet box with solid 1/2" plywood cabinet backs. Other features to note: Dovetail construction, Flush inner frames, Full Extension soft close drawers and doors and Ez level drawer fronts with 3/8" adjustments. They also use Blum hardware and metal shelf clips. All in all, everything you'd want and expect for a standard cabinet. Take a look at their 2021 Look Book for further details on their quality.
Damages can happen. It's just the name of the game. 98% of damages are usually at the time of delivery- whether it is a shipping damage or manufacturer defect. Fabuwood does require images for replacements. Most of the time they want and expect the damaged goods back. This is NOT common with any other manufacturers, and can slow the process down. But, damages do get shipped as quickly as possible. As far as our personal experience with Fabuwood warranty claims, they are far and few between. #knockonwood

Ordering & Delivery - Fabuwood's normally lead time is 2 weeks. They deliver to Long Island locations every Tuesday and Thursday. When placing your order, your designer will call your contactor to find out the exact day they want delivery. This date cannot be changed. Fabuwood's direct delivery is a tailgate delivery only, requiring 2+ people to be onsite to unload the truck. We do have options should you need white glove delivery or storage time. Ask your designer for more information.
Thanks to COVID, many imported products, including Fabuwood cabinetry, ran into distribution delays. We are seeing longer lead times and backorders. Currently, most of our orders are being delivered within 3-4 weeks. Another thing to note, Fabuwood is a Hasidic run company, so they are closed on all Jewish holidays, some of them being rather lengthy- which again effects the lead time. Price - We touched on Fabuwood's pricing earlier. Their line prices up very well for the quality you are getting, even after the price increases implemented this year. We find Fabuwood to be 15% - 20% less than American made, lifetime warranty brands. That can be a huge savings, especially on larger projects.
Fabuwood is a good value for the money spent. Especially for projects with a tighter budget and a shorter lead time.

Warranty - Fabuwood offers a 5 year limited warranty to residential customers. It is 5 years from the date of purchase to the original purchaser only. You can read more about that here. It's very rare, if at all we are presented with a Fabuwood warranty claim on a past project. It is important to note that wear and tear does not count as a warranty issue. This is true for all cabinet manufacturers.

Our Overall Review
Fabuwood is one of our entry level offerings here at A Direct Cabinets. It is an excellent option within its price point and the warranty it carries. With that being said, we do not sell Fabuwood for what it is not. For example, although they offer custom finishing in any Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams color we do not feel this is where they excel. If a customer has a particular color or vision in mind, we use our discretion to suggest which manufacturer would satisfy their wants and needs best.
