Wren Kitchens closed — what to do if you had an order or deposit

Breaking — April 24, 2026: Wren US Holdings Inc. has abruptly shut down all U.S. showrooms and manufacturing facilities. Phones are disconnected. Scheduled appointments are not being honored. Employees have been laid off with little to no notice.

If you woke up this morning expecting a Wren designer to show up for your final measurement — and nobody came — you're one of many customers left without answers today. This is a genuinely frustrating situation, and we want to help you navigate it as clearly as possible.

Step 1: Protect your money immediately

  • 1 Call your credit card company today. If you paid any deposit or balance by credit card, initiate a chargeback dispute right away. You have time-limited windows to act — don't wait even a day.
  • 2 If you paid by check or ACH, contact your bank and ask about reversal options. These are harder to recover, but your bank may have recourse mechanisms worth exploring.
  • 3 Save everything. Contracts, emails, receipts, text messages — screenshot and back up all communication you had with Wren. You will need this documentation for disputes, complaints, or any future claims process.
  • 4 Watch for a bankruptcy filing. If Wren files for Chapter 7 or 11 protection, a creditor claims process will open. File a claim to get in the queue — customers who paid deposits are considered creditors.
  • 5 File a consumer complaint with your state's Attorney General office and the Better Business Bureau. It creates a paper trail and joins your case with others — which matters if class action activity develops.

Now what about your kitchen?

Beyond the financial side, many customers are facing a more immediate problem: they're mid-project. Cabinets may have been ordered but not yet delivered. Contractors may already be scheduled. In some cases, demolition has already been done.

The good news is that kitchen projects can absolutely be restarted — even mid-stream. An experienced cabinet supplier can review whatever documentation you have from Wren (room dimensions, design layouts, product specs) and work from there to minimize lost time and ground.

"The most important thing right now isn't speed — it's finding a supplier you can actually trust to see the project through."

There are still independent, long-standing kitchen cabinet companies operating in the U.S. — companies that have been doing this for decades, aren't backed by aggressive private equity, and aren't going to leave you with a disconnected phone number.

What to look for in your next supplier

  • A verifiable track record — real years in business, genuine reviews, a physical presence you can visit
  • Transparent, upfront pricing with no surprise charges after your final measure
  • Someone willing to work from your existing plans and measurements if you have them
  • A direct line to a real person — not a call center or a chatbot
