How can we help?
Do you sell to homeowners?
The short answer is no. We are a wholesale operation. We do not make or install the cabinetry. With that being said, we can get the design process started, and once you choose a contractor we can get them caught up!
Do you have a showroom where I can see the cabinets?
Yes. Our showroom is located at 686 South Country Road in East Patchogue. Our showroom is by appointment only. Be sure to schedule an appointment with one of us, so we can best help you when you arrive!
Do you install the cabinets?
No. Being a wholesaler, we generally sell to those who would be doing the installing. Otherwise, we do have a referral list of local carpenters that are expert installers. You can find our recommendation list here.
How long have you been in business?
We started A Direct back in 1996, from our basement home office!
What do I get with a Free Design? (Industry Professionals Only)
- Our designers will come to the jobsite to measure each room that may require cabinetry for the project.
- It is at this time they will gather information from you and/or your customer regarding wants and needs, appliances and future architectural changes that will effect the design process.
- The designer will then come up with an initial design within 1-2 business days.
Note: This is for stock cabinetry only. Custom cabinetry needs engineering, which will require more time. A design fee will also apply to these type of projects. - Detailed images will be emailed over to you, showing your space.
- We give you up to two revisions before a design fee is applied.
Will you come to my house to measure my kitchen?
Yes! In fact, we prefer to work with our own measurements. But should you or your contractor provide the initial measurements, we will insist on going to the job site to double check all measurements before ordering.
How quickly can I expect to get my design?
Typically, your designer will complete your initial design within one to two business days after they have come to the jobsite to measure.
Who are your designers?
Our designers were cabinet makers and contractors. They are industry trained and have been designing for an average of 15 years.
Can I get a quote to compare to a quote from another company?
Yes. Email the quote or design to info@directcabinets.com and a designer will contact you within 24 hours notice with a full comparison. Please be sure to include the cabinet manufacturer, door style, color and price.
If I email you a design, can you give me quote?
Absolutely. Email your design to info@directcabinets.com. A designer will contact you, normally within 24 hours, with any questions or clarifications they may need. Once we have your selection of door style and color we can then provide you with an itemized quote.
How do I pay for my order?
We accept all major credit cards, company checks, wire transfers and cash. Payment via credit cards may change your discount to cover the fees associated with credit card processing. Custom produced products, such as countertops, must be paid for by cash or check only.

You say your customers save 30% or more over prices from Big Box stores. Is that true?
When customers send us quotes from Big Box chain stores, we find our prices on equivalent cabinets save most customers 20%-40%, with the typical customer saving about 30%!
How long does it take from the time I order cabinets until they are delivered?
This depends on the cabinetry line you chose for your project. Promotions and holidays can alter lead times drastically. With that being said, here are the general lead times. We'd definitely recommend asking your designer for current lead times before ordering. To see updated lead times during COVID, please click here.
- Fabuwood Cabinetry, 10-14 days
- Kemper Choice, 3-4 weeks
- Kemper Emerge, 4-6 weeks
- Dynasty Omega, 6 weeks
- Pinnacle Omega, 8 weeks
- St. Martin Vanities, 10-14 days
- St. Martin Cabinetry, 4-6 weeks
- Modern Cabinets, 8 weeks
How will I know when my cabinetry will arrive?
Once your order is in production, our customer service department will update the purchaser of when the order is expected to arrive. When your order is scheduled for delivery, the delivery carrier will call the point of contact (typically the contractor) to confirm the delivery date and window of delivery. If you are looking for updates regarding your order, please contact your contractor first. We relay all information to them as we get it.
My countertops were just templated. How long until they come back to install them?
The normal lead time is approximately 2 weeks. Once we get the drawing of your template, we will be able to give you a tentative installation date, so you can plan accordingly.
How do I clean my cabinets?
Dust them periodically, keep them clean by using a soft lint-free cloth, or a microfiber cloth for laminate and high gloss cabinetry- and THAT'S IT! If you need to fight grime with something a little stronger, mix 95% warm water with 5% dish washing liquid and clean with a soft cloth. After cleaning, be sure to dry damp surfaces with a clean soft cloth.

Should I polish or wax my cabinets?
Neither! Your cabinets do not require waxing and we do not recommend it based on the manufacturer's instruction. Over time, waxing and polishing compounds may build up on the cabinet surfaces forming a hazy, streaked or yellowed appearance. Plus wax build up is really hard to remove - no one has time for that!
Are your cabinets covered by a warranty?
Yes. Each manufacturer has their own warranty. If you believe you have a warranty issue, please contact us so we can assist you further. Please note, it is very likely we will need picture(s) documenting the issue to start the warranty process.

How can I repair minor scratches or nicks on my cabinets?
The kitchen is the central hub of most homes and, as a result, often takes a beating. Inevitably, a cabinet finish will be inadvertently scratched. Luckily, we order a touch up kit with almost every order (unless otherwise instructed). This care kit normally includes a fill stick and a marker/touch-up pen. These touch-up kits are also available for purchase in the future if yours is lost or dries out.
